H22a euro r timing question
Ok I've got my h22a euro r in and running on stock h22 basemap at bottom of calibration list. Anyways my question is in calibration hondata set timing in the online menu is saying 16. Well I've been on euro r forums and they say it needs to be on number 12 mark printed on flywheel. Regular h22 usdm has 15 or 16 printed on flywheel and that would match up with hondata pretty easy. Well if I lower the hondata preset 16 to 12 and try to hit 12 on my flywheel with timing light I have to advance it to max and still doesn't quite hit the mark. If I leave it at 16 on hondata I can hit 12 very easily without being to far advanced or retarded. Almost dead center of dizzy adjustment and car seems to run good at this mark. Is this right or should I advance a bit and get closer to 15 which would be just past 12 I'm assuming. Please help as I don't want to damage this engine. Any opinions or advice is appreciated alot. Thanks

You will have to try and see what works best and make sure there is no knock.

Re: H22a euro r timing question
Ok I'm learning slowly but surely I have figured it out. I had to change the idle area on ignition map 1st and then go online take it down to 12 degrees for euro r higher compression and cam profiles. It was messing me up not changing the actual idle area in my map bc as soon as I would close set timing window ecu would resort back to the map. Lmao man it hit me like a ton of bricks. The more I watch and read and think about it the more confident I am about it and the more sense it makes. Car idles alot lower and smoother and the little ticking I was hearing is gone. I really need to find a dyno and a reputable tuner I know. I'm gonna keep picking away at this calibration until then. Spunkster you think if I upload a log you could take a look at it and see what you think or anyone for that matter. I'll be the 1st to admit I'm still learning but can tell I'm on right track I hope. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can upload the calibration and datalog to see if any tuners here can take a look.
