Australian H22 Prelude Tuning

Post by KingH22 »

I am trying to add a Hondata S300 to my AUDM H22a4 Prelude. I want to keep my intake air butterflies IAB and knock sensor capability.

I have heard a p72 ecu is necessary for IABs but have also heard that the signals for the IAB and knock differ between many ecus versus stock. They are also very expensive and difficult to find now especially in Aus.

Would a modified p28 or p30 ecu work to keep all functionality? Is the knock board on the p30 compatible? Can the p30 be configured to have IABs work?

What’s the difference between JDM and USDM ecus too?

TIA

Details on what options the different ECUs have can be found at: https://hondata.com/tech-obdi-ecu-reference

The knock boards are tuned to the displacement of the engine and swapping one from a different displacement may not detect knock as well.
