Civic Turbo CVT 2016, +6 psi high octane, AEM CAI/SRI

Post by cao02010 »

Hello,

I am planning to install the following mods to my 2016 Honda Civic EX-T:

(1) AEM Cold Air Intake
(2) Injen Intercooler
(3) Injen Performance Exhaust System - SES1572TT

I am planning to use the following basemap tune from Hondata: "Civic Turbo CVT 2016, +6 psi high octane, AEM CAI/SRI"

Is this the correct tune for these modifications, or do I require a custom tune?

Is there any risk to my CVT as well? I wanted to avoid modifications that would add torque to my transmission (which is why I am avoiding any exhaust modifications).

Thank you for your time and consideration.

You can use "Civic Turbo CVT 2016, +6 psi high octane, AEM CAI/SRI" as basemap, do datalog, & see if custom tune is required. When studying the first datalog, I would suggest look for anomaly such as knock control, afm, & fuel trim.

Hi Arnold,

Thank you for the reply. I'll be sure to datalog and see the results.

Is there anyone at Hondata though that can elaborate on my two questions?

Thanks so much.

Our testing has shown our calibrations to be safe for the CVT as long as you are not power braking.

Hi Spunkster,

Thank you for the reply and feedback. I absolutely will not be power braking the CVT.

So when installing the CAI, exhaust system, and intercooler, the only part that needs to be tuned is the CAI, which can be done by uploading the "Civic Turbo CVT 2016, +6 psi high octane, AEM CAI/SRI" tune. Correct? I am very new to tuning, so just want to get all my ducks in a row before I install these parts and Hondata tune.
