what SHOULD my car be idling at? when it idles at 13:1 or so it idles nice and smooth. when i bring it to 14.7:1 i get a rough idle and a "loping" sound, almost like it's missing.
i'm assuming fwy cruising a/f should be 14.7:1?
what about while accellerating in vaccum around town? i notice under light-mid accell (flow of traffic, maybe a bit more, no boost) i'm hitting as low as 11.4:1
i ask because my fuel mileage SUCKS. i'm getting 24mpg, whereas i used to get 30-31. fwy.. around town.. it doesn't matter. i may as well be driving a mustang.
this is a B18c5 motor, 630cc injectors.

is this normal? i'm guessing no. the car SERIOUSLY falls on it's face between shifting.

I KNOW THAT MINE IDLES VERY LEAN. LIKE OVER 17 AND WAS TOLD AT IDLE THATS OK...

are you sure? that's pretty lean. my car nearly dies at that a/f

ive got the aem air fuel guage that has an o2 sensor built in. my car will still idle at 14.7 and well at that but if you lean it out it shuldnt hurt it at idle from what ive heard.
