Quick cliff notes:
- k20a3 (rsx base spec) swap into 2004 civic
- greddy turbo
- kpro can't communicate with pc
- ordered a new one still same problem
- won't upload and downloading from Kpro results in jiberish file
Well we tried the new kpro and still no communication at all. so now we're down the path of finding a wiring issue. Is there any differences in wiring between 04-05 civics and 01-03 civics? we followed the diagram that xproductionz had in his DIY (http://www.xproductionz.com/k20swap/k20swap.html). Does anyone have links, suggestions, or any other swap wiring diagrams? I honestly don't want to use a wiring conversion harness because they're exspensive and the re-wiring should have been relatively easy. There's a proper engine ground and am using BKR8EIX NGK Iridum plugs.

Does KManager recognize the KPro when you switch on the ignition? What happens when you try to upload?
The problem with engine swaps is that the wiring between the 01 Civic and 04 Civic is different, and therefore must be altered. Most wiring conversions are incorrect, including commercial conversion harnesses. Some of these faults may not be immediately obvious - eg leaving out a signal ground will not stop the engine running, but a sensor might now have an unintended current flow.
Start by getting the 01 and 04 Civic manuals, and working out a wiring conversion yourself. The electrical trouble shooting manuals are very useful too. Don't trust other peoples work. Pay particular attention to the relays and the grounds. Don't mix grounds - if a ground is a logic ground, don't wire it to a chassis ground or a signal ground. Don't wire things together which normally are not connected - eg don't wire the K20A3 ECT into the Civic cluster.
Once the wiring is done, use a multimeter to measure both voltage differences and current flows between all the possible ground points, including the ECU case and USB connector. You also have to repeat this step with the engine running as well. Anything over a couple of mA or a couple of mV is a sign of a problem.
Finally, there is still an unresolved issue with Greddy turbo kits which we have not been able to pin down yet. Typically this results in the loss of datalogging once the engine is running, so I do not think that it is the cause your your problems.

ok i went there myself and here's what i found, the kpro says online and ignition on but doesn't show anything else like sensors or TB position. when i go to upload it says "upload failed". when i go clear security it says the security clearing failed. the green light is on (kpro) and when you hook it up it does go red indicating the computer and kpro are communicating. when i download from the kpro the values are jiberish (all maxed on the table graph and the injectors size is like 65635cc).
also another thing i noted. they didn't bleed the clutch. I also have a remote start which obviously bypasses the clutch. would there be any conflict in regards to that?

I was having this same problem the other day with a friends 05 rsx. At first no connectivity, so I reinstalled the usb drivers, it showed online and ign on, so I upload a file and start the car, it runs rich as hell and dies. I check the values they're fine. I restart the laptop and disconnected the usb completely. Let laptop completely reboot, plug usb into ecu, then into laptop in a different port than before, it showed online and ign on, so I click datalog and it read temps fine. Uploaded a file and it was fine from there. Don't know why it did it, or exatly what fixed it but thats the story, try it and see what happens.
