WOT Engine Died on Highway

Post by MYTON »

Engine : JDM K20A (DC5 Type R)
Transmission: K20A (DC5 Type R)

Today I was trying to check to see if my car was running right before I take it to the dyno, turns out it was not ready....I decided to do two runs at WOT first one went well no issues. The second one, The tachometer had a mind of its own spinning around and bouncing everywhere as I hit the limiter. The MIL came on indicating that the car ran lean. (As I had set this prior)

Afterwards, I shut the engine off and tried to start it , but it would crank and immediately die.

Luckily I have all of the data to show you exactly what happened. If you see any inconsistencies or problems within the graph, please let me know !

Basemap and Datalog are included.

The battery voltage seems to be oscilating 1 volt everywhere. It should not be doing this.

I noticed that as well, however one thing that caught my eye is the IGN it suddenly dropped down to -10 at about 8500-8600 rpm. Is this also abnormal?

get the voltage to be stable first then see if the other issue is still there.

Problem solved:

Fuel rail ground for the ecu came loose and made the main relay make a buzzing sound.
all is well and operable.
