Full throttle shifting

Post by fgfournet »

I have problems setting up the full throttle shifting. When I set it to turn on all the time, the car will set my rpms for the full throttle shift as my rev limiter. I invert the input and it doesn't work at all. Is this an issue with the clutch switch. I have a '01 ITR. I used Spunkster's 98 spec base map. Car runs fine, just the full throttle shift. Oh, and launch control works fine.[/quote]

can you post your calibration showing the settings?

not 100% sure but i don't think you can have full throttle shift on all the time. it is looking for an input and having it always on means exactly what it says. the rev limit will always be whatever you set the shift limiter to, in your case 6000rpm. the ecu has no way of distinguishing if the clutch is engaged or disengaged without an input from a switch. set it to one of the inputs and wire the clutch switch accordingly and you should be fine.

By setting full throttle shift to always on, you will alsys hav ethat as a revlimit. You will need to connect it to one of the inputs listed in the software and connect it to a clutch switch.

I thought the activation of the full throttle shift was the clutch switch? When I have launch control "Always on" it doesn't set my rev limiter, unless it meets all the criteria: Under 6mph + clutch pedal. Or am I figuring wrong? I thought the Always on setting was for when you want to use it: turning that parameter on/off w/ A/C switch etc., or Always on.

you cant have it always on. connect it to a clutch switch with one of the inputs. for example on my setup i have the clutch switch on the PSP input. both full throttle and launch control are on the same input. i can only use launch control under 2mph. above that the switch activates full throttle shifting when the clutch is disengaged.

this had me stumped to.. turn out that the clutch switch (the one that release when you touch the clutch) is for your cruise control and is not connected to the ecu. you have to connect it to the ecu thru one of the inputs. this switch normal turns off the cruise control when you touch the clutch pedal.

Ive found i can shift faster and hold boost between shifts manualy, then the full throttle shift option, but im only running 9lbs so maybe it will be more useful when im pushing 20-25psi, so i dont use it anymore
