CANFlex for 11th Gen Si

Post by shollander »

I am interested in the new CANFlex system for the 11th Gen Si. It seems like a very cost effective way to get a nice amount of extra power. I had a few questions about it that I was hoping to get answered:

1) Is it safe to regularly run E85 with a stock (except for CANFlex) Si as a daily driver? Is there an increased risk of engine and/or fuel system wear due to E85?

2) How does the CANFlex base tune perform when used with premium gasoline? Will it be like the Stage 1 (240) or Stage 2 (250) tunes?

3) Looking at the CANFlex tune in Flashpro manager, I see that the torque limits are the same for both standard and sport mode (unlike the stage 1/stage 2 tunes). Is there any difference between standard and sport mode with this tune?

Thank you.

Yes, it is safe to use regularly.

It is very close to other tuned calibrations.

They use the same table for both modes unless use check the box for Hondata mode so that you can edit them both and make them different if you like.

Which calibration is it closest to? Stage 1 or Stage 2?
Do you have a dyno chart of the CANFlex 49 State tune running on premium gas?

I am curious as to why you did it like this. All the other calibrations that you provide have a difference between Standard and Sport mode.

If I did want to edit them which one should I edit? Is the current calibration the max safe amount so that I would lower the Standard mode, or is there room to increase the torque limits for Sport mode?

Thanks for your help!
