2012 Honda Civic Si

Post by koldkick »

Hello everyone, I have done what I can to get my tune sorted out but tbh its probably 90% the "US Civic Si 2012, Short ram intake, cat delete, catback exhaust" with minor changes to the idle rpm, anyways here's where I'm at...
The car seems to surge when rolling to a stop, or after revving it parked/stationary.
It surges from 1000rpm to 1500rpm, occasionally 1000-1300rpm or so.
This happens when rolling to a stop and at "idle" after coming to a complete stop.
I have been able to re-upload the tune to "reset" the issue but it only "solves" the issue briefly. (It's a dumb workaround to the issue)
I have taken every step possible at this point to solve the issue, aside from talking with you all.
Switching off this tune works to resolve the issue but the car still knocks and I'd really love to keep it in top tier power and general condition.

Is anyone able to have a look at the tune for me?
I can get some data logs if you need, just let me know.

So far I have:
-replaced maf/map and throttle body
-I purchased a foxwell NT510 elite scanner and followed the correct procedure for the throttle body relearn as per Honda suggests.
-replaced pcv valve and hose/line
-replaced all air and coolant hoses connecting to the intake side
-replaced all intake gaskets (stock plastic intake manifold)
-replaced all spark plugs
-replaced all coil packs
-cleaned as much of the intake as possible
-mechanically everything is within spec and I haven't gotten any check engine light / fault codes or anything to that nature just the rough and surging idle and surging on decel/rolling
-I confirmed there is no exhaust leaks at all on the car, the oxygen sensors appear to be in good condition and again haven't caused any codes.

I am in the process of learning how to tune with Hondata but it has been a pain and a lot of detail oriented work to sort it all out for my situation
I didn't want to reach out to you until I was confident I'd done all I could to resolve the issue.
Anything you can do to help me out would be greatly appreciated!
I will also include that the issue only started during the cold weather this winter here in Alberta CAN

My Mods - 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan FB6:
-Skunk2 CAI 3in | shortened to SRI (I'm scared of hydro locking)
-Invidia N1 Catback exhaust (So loud)
- Valve Cover Vent | vents to atmosphere
- Afe throttle body spacer

Thanks All!

Venting the valve cover to the atmosphere could be the issue.
