2015 Civic Si Dyno Tune issues
I recently installed a 2.5 inch rv6 catted exhaust and had it dynotuned. I got up to 196 whp so about +25 whp. I feel like I made a lot of power for the mods I have. In vtec (which he has set upper a lower both at 5000) I get this crackling noise when it first engages (no leaks from exhaust and all bolts are tight). I’ve done research and heard that this could be engine knock. I’ve done two oil changes in about 2500 miles and both came back with a lot of metal sparkles and even tiny chunks of brass metal. My knock sensor reads a crazy amount of knocks in vtec but my knock sensor is turned off. I have upper and lower engine mounts. I feel like I need a more refined and safer tune. Could anybody help me out with this? I have WOT datalogs recorded.

Also the people that dyno tuned it had my rpm limit set at 7900 rpm, they did 4 pulls. About how bad is that for my engine? I know that it shouldn’t be revving that high. I now have my limiter at 7450.

Have you reached out to your tuner? I don’t see why the knock sensor would be turned off. I would be more concerned about the knock and reducing the timing in the areas experiencing knock. I personally don’t raise the limiter on this platform unless the engine is built for it and it make power that high in the rpm range.
