PRC ECU Kpro v4 in 02 Type S won’t start

Ok so I’ve tried everything and I still can’t figure this out.. bought a PRC DC5R ecu it originally had a V1 in it.. it would start the car on a basic map but the car would just die out and then not start again at all just crank. Figured it was because it was a V1 so sent it in to get upgraded (not sure if there is a difference for PRC and PRB kpro board). Get it back and car just cranks and cranks.. I smell gas and hear the fuel pump but it doesn’t wanna start even with a basic map.. here’s the kicker.. put a buddies PRB kpro v4 ecu on the car and basic map.. car starts right up and idles happily.. was trying to see if there was something I was missing maybe wiring pinout wise.. when I plug the PRC ecu in all the lights come on signaling the ecu is working properly via the troubleshooting section laying out the light sequences, also checked on the info part of the ecu and everything checks out and all signals are good, can upload maps and hear the clicking from the board like you’re supposed to when it’s uploading.. any and all insight is appreciated
