With hopes of eliminating the troublesome eld code 20 with ROM editor 3.1, I have found, in my case, that the 'disable eld" does not work properly. My s200'd p28 responds identically when the option is disabled/enabled.
This also leads me to believe that this is effecting the target idle. From the readings on the website, the only items that should effect target idle are coolant temp and electrical load. Changing this in the rom editor also has a similar effect, it shows no variation when datalogging regardless of the value entered.
Any insight would be appreciated.
cause and effect relationship: eld and target idle?
ELD error
'Disable ELD' is actually 'Disable ELD Error'. It does not stop the ECU from using the ELD, only removes the error if there is no ELD input. I'll change RomEditor for V3.2.2 so that 'Disable ELD' sets the ELD current to a default value. That should help you out, but in the meantime try disconnecting the ELD input into the ECU (best way is to remove the ELD wire from the connector into the ECU). RomEditor V3.2.2 is due out in the next week or so, depending on other changes I have to make.
