Version 4.3.4 ignition timing issues

Post by chrisrkooz »

HONDA CRZ, 2011 CVT
Version 4.3.4
No ecu relevant mods
Stock ECU
Serial: FP-CRZ-US-70125
Calibration and two datalogs will be attached.

Issue: Incorrect ignition timing. ECU not following ignition timing in the tables. If the table is set to 4, for example, the ECU will be using 30+ timing advance. If the ECU is supposed to be using 25 ignition timing, it’s 0 for some reason. I noticed the issue briefly after modifying the WOT low lambda adjustment while using live tuning. I noticed the issue yesterday for the first time but did not save the datalog. Uploading a slightly different calibration fixes the issue immediately. I will report if the issue eventually occurs on this functional calibration as well.

The ‘before’ datalog will show the car starting off normal and at the end is when I noticed the issue. The second catalog is me starting a new the datalog and driving with the issue present, keeping my car in high RPM to prevent knock. The car was not turned off in between, I just started a new datalog to make the beginning of the issue more obvious.

The issue may have been occurring for the last two weeks at a lower severity, as I’ve noticed knock randomly appearing in weird spots.

A few answers in advance:

-The high IAT is from a supercharger.
-The attached calibration is definitely what's uploaded to the ECU at the time. I uploaded it last night.
-I don't know if the issue occurs on other calibrations yet, as I first noticed the issue last night on my way home from work. I noticed it again on my way to work today.
-The issue seems most likely to occur after adjusting the WOT lambda adjustment, as the same thing happened last night while I was trying to make adjustments with live tuning while driving.

Also, is there a reason the CR-Z doesn't have IAT-based ignition timing retard? It would be very useful in my case. I am assuming the ECU doesn't support it...? Noob question.

Modification of the wot Landa is not causing the issue. Todays drive to work had the issue occur after about 25 minutes of normal driving. Live tuning was active but not used.

Also take note of the AFM.c going haywire. I am definitely not getting 2.8g+ per cylinder. Noticed that occurrence the exact same time as the ignition timing issue during my drive home today. This was on an entirely different calibration.

I will be downgrading from 4.3.4 ASAP.

Great, going to an older software version didn't help. Still having issues when I moved to version 4.2.8 which is the only old download I still had around. I'll be submitting a help ticket as I'm suspecting 4.3.4 might have corrupted both of my calibrations OR my flashpro entirely. Worst case something fucked up my ECU and I'm royally screwed.

I'll attempt a rebuild of my calibration in 4.2.8, but something tells me it won't help.

Is the supercharger new, or has anything else been changed on the vehicle?
