Acura RDX 2007 cooling fans problem.

Post by ted »

Hello, I have an Acura RDX 2006 + Hondata, the situation with the engine cooling fans: when the set temperature of 96 degrees is reached, the low speed of the fans turns on and after turning on they do not turn off! The shutdown threshold was set to 92, 90, 88 and 82 degrees!!! The fans work and lower the temperature in the radiator to 45-50 degrees, while the temperature in the engine is maintained at 87-90 degrees thanks to the thermostat! It is about 28-30 degrees outside, the brains do not react to the lower threshold for setting the temperature. The fans turn off only after the engine is turned off. And this is repeated until the next warm-up to this temperature!
electrical part, relay, temperature sensors, wiring, everything is checked, everything works!

Post the calibration used and a datalog showing the issue.

hi, here you can see how the temperature rises to 96 degrees and the low speed of the fans turns on and does not turn off, passing the lower threshold of 88 degrees, lowering the temperature in the radiator to 45 degrees! outside at this time 32-33 degrees.

ECT is staying the same. It is showing ECT2 getting cooler indicates that the cooling system is working, but since ECT is not going down the fans continue to run.

I don't understand what needs to be done to turn them off....!?
Is it necessary to raise the lower shutdown threshold to 92 degrees? Will this help?
Or please tell me your option on how to fix this so that the fans turn off?

Look at ECT not ECT2 as ECT is not going down to the threshold you are setting.

I set the upper threshold to 98 and the lower threshold to 92 degrees, and the fans did not turn off, although the temperature on the EST was 90 and even lower in some places, about 88 degrees

If you set the temperature like this, the fan should turn off when the temperature reaches 92 degrees? Please tell me, is this correct?

Check the box for using the secondary ECT for fan control.

If you have the AC on then both fans will always run no matter what.

There are not different fan speeds.
