Datalog help

Post by jametime1 »

I was wondering if anyone can spot a "smoking gun" in this datalog that might help point me towards what is causing my car to run so rich. My only mod is a catted exhaust. This datalog is when i reflashed to stock/reset the ecu small drive. as youll see the car quickly learns to cut fuel. Im in the process of getting an e-tune but had backfiring issues despite normal-ish fuel trims. 'd imagine running quite rich on a stock tune would cause issues for the tuner. Seems like I'll be taking it to the shop to have them check out the fuel sytem but any help would be appreciated! leaky injector is the only thing i can think of but no codes no misfires. i've done spark plugs and new o2 sensor recently, took it to a shop no exhaust/intake leaks

Post the calibration file you are running. If you are getting an Etune, I assume your tuner would have provided you one of their base calibrations rather then use a Hondata base calibration.

I will look over the log once you have posted the calibration file.

hey thanks Ed. This datalog was simply the factory settings when getting ready to unpair the flashpro, not one of the hondata maps. I'll post the calibration that corresponds to that datalog (stock settings) but i have feeling thats not what you meant ha. I can post a previous datalog/tuner calibration combo, where i was backfiring, but the tuner/company "locks" the calibrations so I'm not sure if they would be helpful. Please advise thanks!

If I understood you correctly, The log is using the stock reflash from Hondata. The car was running rich. You then began an Etune. What has your tuner said? I would imagine they have reduced the fuel and can help diagnosis if it's a mechanical issue. I looked over the log and the trims do not look too crazy. It would be an immediate concern if the trims were being maxed. No two cars are the same so the Hondata maps sometimes need some adjustments.

thanks ed. those settings/datalog are the calibration with the description "US CIVIC Si 2013, factory settings", not the "US CIVIC Si, 2012-2014 hondata reflash." I was under the impression the "factory settings" calibration is my cars original saved settings from before the initial flash.

But yeah car ran rich stock, now getting a tune and still running rich with backfiring/gurgling, but my trims looks really good on the tuned datalogs, im just backfiring constantly. So I put the factory settings back on to hopefully save my new highflow cat while i try to figure it out :/

I sent a longer email to the tuner hopefully I'll get a response today, but the first response was essentially "datalogs looks good check for install issues."
I figure some of the trim comes from the really high intake/ambient temps but I do believe I have a mechanical issue. I asked the tuner to look over them again with a mechanical issue in mind so we shall see.
