P28 with OBD2A conversion

Post by Dr_broon »

Hi all,

I've got a UK spec civic aerodeck vti which comes with a b18c4 and p9k ecu (which can't be chipped). The harness has OBD1 correctors, and the engine is too stop intents and purposes the same as the US GSR with IABs.

I've managed to get a p28 with an s300 installed, but this has been converted to OBD2A with an additional board installed and an obd2a connector (it was previously running an H22).

I was hoping to find out what options I have with this ecu. Ideal option would be to have the conversion undone and reinstall obd1 connectors. Second would be a conversion harness (I know options are really limited here), but I've got a nagging doubt that going from OBD1 - OBD2A - OBD1 might lose something along the way.. From reviewing pin outs it looks like OBD2A doesn't have some of the items that OBD1 would need?

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers

I would recommend that you sell that ECU to someone that has a compatible OBD2 vehicle and that you purchase a OBD1 ECU that does not have an adapter installed.

Cool, thanks. I thought that might be the case but hoped otherwise.

Thanks @spunkster
