A/f reading

Post by Jesusdiaz »

Okay so let me start off the gauge seems to work fine, but for some reason it will not align in the computer/Hondata. So I’ve got the gauge plugged in to the o2 sensor, I then gave he red for 12v switch and the black for ground, the brown and white go to the ecu, they go to analog 1 and the ground. The white goes to the analog 1 and the brown goes to the black ground coming from the ecu. The car will idle amazing and the numbers on the gauge are steady but for some reason on Hondata the tuning app it goes crazy from 11-17 non stop so can’t tune it. We’ve tried switching the analog and grounding the brown to a chassis ground instead of the ecu and still the same it’ll be perfect on the gauge reading but the computer datalog goes crazy. Any idea??

It worked at one point, was doing breakin “tune”
And then it just started acting funny. The gauge it self reading perfect from the break-in tune just it’s not reading right anymore on the Hondata app which means I can’t tune it up.

use a multimeter to see if the signal voltage output from the wideband controller is doing the same thing you see in the datalogs.

Can I ask what you mean by that? Test the power wire? Or the analog coming from the wideband to ecu? This is my first build so I’m new to everything

You need to check the analog signal coming from the wideband controller to see if the voltage matches what you are seeing in the datalog.

That’s the point it was all setup right and working perfectly when I got my first base tune, then after that I got a Break-in tune and drove on that for about a week no issues. Then we went to turn it up and my tuner needed the data log and that’s when we noticed it. So it’s been tuned 3 times before the issue started. The gauge itself works amazing the numbers are steady on the gauge then when you go to Hondata for tuning The a/f ain’t in sink with the laptop but it was for 2 weeks and worked fine then went for data log and noticed the issue

Post the calibration being used and a datalog made with it showing the issue.

change the analog input to raw voltage and datalog and see if the actual voltage is jumping around.

Can I ask where I do that? I only use it for the gauges my tuners the guy that does most of that

Change the analog input from the wideband to just a raw voltage reading in the parameters under Analog inputs.

When I switched it from the aem 30-300 to raw voltage it just jumps from 1.3-4.3 back and forth

and if you measure the voltage at the wideband input pin, what voltage are you seeing?

Oh I was reading it off Hondata, all I did was switch the analog that the gauge is on ANALOG 1 and put it to raw voltage and then read it off Hondata where a/f is displayed
