2020 EU facelift Loosing some Boost at 6600 RPM

Post by ralfi2000 »

I'm struggling with FK8 on Hondata,

Fp-ctr-fk8-int-371114

Setup for this car is: exhaust, full exhaust q300, intercooler with charge pipes prl.
The problem.
Boost target is set for about 1.6b ~ 24psi. The car pulls good almost to end, but at about 6600RPM boost pressure COMMAND and ofcourse boost Pressure drops to 1.4b ~ 21 PSI.
All parameters have been checked, it's not problem with turbine, fuel pump DC is ok, all parameters were changed.
All limiters on MODS list were disabled (You can see that on map 27, tha I attached.) AIRCharge was ovverrided, All CMP ratios were overrided, target boost is now set to 2.700.
Target Throttle TQ set to 600.

I had same car with same ecu
its 37805-5BF-E340
I tuned it on stock ecu without Hndata, and I hadn't got any problems with this pressure drop. Boost CMD 1.65-1.6 from 6 to 7k rpm without any problem.

At the top end the wastegate is open less than 1mm. This usually signals that either the turbo has reached its maximum flow or there is a boost leak. The difference in boost between 1mm and 0mm is almost nothing but the bigger issue is that your turbo is likely to be overspeeding. A lot.

So turbo boost have to be lower, what’s the proper tolerance on westgate in minimiters ?

But there must be some software bug, because when I dropped target boost to 1.5b at top, and WG opening is at 2.4mm at 6400RPM, there still is a dip at 6700RPM, and target boost drops to 1400mbar for just flash, and goess back to desired. I mean BPCMD, and after that ofcourse actual boost.

If the wastegate is closed and the boost is low then the compressed air is going somewhere other than the intake manifold. It is not a software bug.

Just some things you should try IMO:

- You should use value 200º at the catalyst protection temperature in order to activate the fuel cat protect tables.

- Check for boost leaks

- Try to increase the values on the Turbo Max Ratio (PA) #2

Were tried lower target boost, at 1500mbar WG is at 2,5mm, and it still cuts the boost.
Were checked for leaks under pressure and all OK.
Increasing Values on MAX PA ratio 2 didnt give any effect.
Ok, I'll try with this CAT protection, maybe its some hint :)
