89 crx with a 90 b18a1 ecu question

Post by mrjuicie35 »

89 crx with a 90 b18a1 obd0 i have bought the new obd1 dizzy, bought the new obd1 converstion wire kit. and the convestion kit for the dizzy from obd0 to obd1. i have a p06 ecu obd1 wired up for hondata. i also have the s200 with boost and datalogging. how do i hook up the parts to run correctly. hooked up the parts went to start and it misses, backfires, and revs up slow only to 3 or 4 grand. need help thanks confused.

i need to know if i got the right ecu. also it ran fine before the converstion to obd1.

Who provided you with a basemap? It sounds like you may have a blank chip. Is the light on the interface box flashing? I would suggest contacting your nearest Hondata dealer for some assistance with a basemap and then tuning.

Doesn't sound ecu problem. You got misses and backfires this is a timing issue. Is this a after market Dizzy you bought :?: What the part number on it say :?: Sound to me like that a new OBD0 Dizzy with OBD1 connectors. That Dizzy has the wrong tooth count.

 And here a quick way to test that theory is to leave everything connected. Disconnect the OBD1 ecu and the conversion harness and plug a OBD0 ecu like a PR4 back in and start her up. If I am right, the engine will idle smooth with no misses or backfires. You will get a check engine light right after it starts for O2 Sensor not connected.

I had then same problem you are describing and I had "Brand New Dizzy Denial" for just about 2-weeks telling myself that it can't be because it's "Brand New" . As I triple checked every connection. Turns out I had the right one for the engine it but researched the part number myself and it was OBD0.
