RSX Speedometer Problems

Post by XingRat94 »

Hey how’s it going?
I have all functions in my car except the speedometer.
Started a thread on this over on K20a, but was not able to get to the source of my problem. I’ll post the link to it so you can see what I’ve covered so far.
Here’s what I’m working with:
2006 RSX-S
Original engine harness
02-04 type s ECU( with Kpro )
JDM K24a engine
Original trans (06 type s, Z1 )

Here is what I have confirmed working :
- All fuses are good
- CSS is selected in Kpro
- K Line is functioning
- Pin B13 VSS output has 5V signal is at the cluster
- Pin B11 Communication line at cluster has 7.14V
- All grounds at cluster are good

Cluster self diag test confirms all gauges sweeping including the Speedo. I DO have an “error” code at the end of the test though. Which I assume is the problem.

Here the k20a link :

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Was unable to edit:

Forgot to mention, while driving with Kpro open on my laptop, speed is working during a data log( on the app) The physical Speedometer is still not responding.

Also, tested the speed sensor and I have two 5V’s and a ground on the 3 wire plug.

What is the serial number that is on the K-Pro board inside the ECU?

Not getting any error or CEL codes , I’m just seeing “error” on the cluster where the kilometres are typically , after I do a cluster test.
Is there a way to get a sort of a blink code from that ?

Post the calibration and a datalog made with that calibration that shows the issue.

The car is put away for the winter now so won’t be able to get any datalogs other than idling or turning the wheels over on jackstands.
In Kpro it reads the Speed accurately. Just isn’t being translated to the physical speedometer.
Not sure how to post my calibration, I’ll try and DM it to you

Edit: unable to DM you
Hopefully this works!

Still an ongoing issue for me, Spunkster any more suggestions ?
I can’t drive the car right now, due to snow. I am able to lift the wheels and get a stationary datalog if you think that would help narrow the issue ?
