Help Please
I just want to start off by saying that im feeling pretty stupid about using Hondata! i have read so much my head is spinning. Just when I think I understand it I see something else that contradicts what i thoougth i learned. I have an 09 civic si coupe that is almost completely stock. The only bolt on I have is a skunk 2 CAI. My exhaust is custom but close to stock as far as flow goes. I am definitely going to get the 3 inch fullrace eventualy. With that being said which tune would be best for just the skunk 2 CAI to run for a long while until i can get more upgrades? I do not have the money right now to get it tuned and im terrified that im going to mess something up. If i didnt have such a hard time with the CAI install I would just go back stock and forget about. I have tried 2 different tunes so far... the MAF Injen CAI tune and the AEM v2 map based tune. Oddly enough the MAF tune ran better. Also for some reason when i loaded the MAP tune the RPM gauge didnt move to show it was uploading when I uploaded it to the ECU. My lap top said load successful and everything changed such as VTEC engagement and red line.. Also it ran different (worse) and it showed it in my History. I dont know if Im supposed to reset it back to stock every time i choose a different tune or if im ok just loading another tune to try out? Im about ready to sale it all and throw in the towel. I had no idea this would be this confusing! I can not believe there is not a tune for the skunk2 CAI!!! The whole reason i bought the flashpro is because it litteraly says it has tunes for Skunk2 parts!! The Idea behind it all is AMAZING im just STUPID!!!! Please help!!!! I apologize for ranting on here.. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS for reading!!

Re: Help Please
Welcome to the forum,
Unfortunately, Hondata offers base calibrations and not Off-the-shelf tunes. Whatever calibration you run will need some adjustments. I am happy to look over the calibration you are running and make sure it is running safe until you can get a proper tune. Start a thread in the flashpro calibration section. Post the calibration file and a datalog. I try to help out the Hondata community as much as I can.
No need to give up and sell the flashpro. Hondata makes great products.

Re: Help Please
We offer off the shelf tunes as well as base calibrations.
With the huge combination of parts available for people it is impossible to cover every combination.

Re: Help Please
I apologize. I stand corrected.
Post the calibration when you have time and I can take a look at it.

Re: Help Please
Thank you Ed! I am terrified that I am going to mess something up. I guess I should start over from scratch before proceeding. First I want to say that I have an 09 civic SI 8th gen coupe. I have a skunk2 cold air intake. Other that that it's stock. However when I load the race calibration the tune says it's for a type R civic. Also my RPM guage isn't moving when I load it. It will say successful and the parameters change. But now my service light is flashing like it needs to be reset, but it won't let me reset it. Do I need to go back to completely stock factory tune? Which tune do you recommend? Sorry if I repeated information, I just want to paint the picture as clearly as possible so I know that things are correct. Let me know a recommendation for a tune, I will load it, and get a data log for you. Do I just put it on this forum or do I need to get an email to send it to? Again thank you so much!
Re: Help Please
Meant to ask do I run MAP or MAF? Thanks again!!

Re: Help Please
There should be no need to run a race calibration. It’s safe to run a MAF calibration as long as you normal drive the car only. This will at least have the car driving safely until you get a proper tune.
You can post the files here on the forum. That’s why I suggested you start a thread in the calibrations section.

Re: Help Please
One more question Ed. I was told that since I have a 3.5 inch intake I will need to run a MAP based tune. From what I've been told the MAF will not read correctly so I'll need to use the MAP sensor. Does that sound right?

Re: Help Please
Yes ideally you should switch to a map based tune. A maf based tune is ok to run in the meantime until you get properly tuned. You just have to refrain from driving the car too hard.TMC wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2024 9:32 am One more question Ed. I was told that since I have a 3.5 inch intake I will need to run a MAP based tune.
