speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
hello, doing a kswap on a 1992 toyota mr2. using the original transmission to the vehicle. it is a E153 manual transmission with what i believe is a hall effect style speed sensor. speed sensor is confirmed to be outputting. the vehicles factory speedometer reads and an oscope (see photo) is also reading at connector A pin 18 white/green wire. i have tried all 3 settings for vss with no reading on the kpro vss. wondering if i'm missing a setting or something similar? is there a way to test the kpro vss input/output?

Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
Have you tried inputting it directly into the vss input on the K-Pro board?
Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
I have not. Figured I would post here 1st incase it was just a setting. The speed sensor is 12 volt input. Can I use the alternate vss with this sensor, or does it need to be a 5 volt?
Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
It is a digital input so it should be 0-5v.
Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
after doing some research it appears the speed sensor on this transmission is outputting the same signal as a speed sensor on a 2002-2004 rsx. 3-wire 12 volt sensor with 4000 pulses per mile. can you hypothesis why the kpro is not reading the input? could the ecu be the issue?
Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
Try your ECU on a known working vehicle and see if it reads the VSS.
Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
will do. is the vss something that is tested when an ecu is sent to hondata for the upgrade?
Re: speedometer reads, but no vss on kpro (PRB)
We test on a bench, but not everything is tested as we are making sure that the K-Pro uploads and datalogs properly. It was also installed over a year and a half ago.
