Yeah you will definitely need it before your tune.Francejf wrote: Wed Jan 17, 2024 8:26 pm right now I am running the stock sensor. i plan on getting the 4 bar from hondata, probably should have done that already

ok. just ordered for next day delivery so it should arrive Friday. I'm guessing i should probably hold off on any other adjustments until i get that in or would you still like to see the data from the adjustments you sent me?

I would like to see the adjustments. You can drive the car on the stock MAP sensor to dyno and then switch it there.Francejf wrote: Wed Jan 17, 2024 8:57 pm ok. just ordered for next day delivery so it should arrive Friday. I forgot to ask. Did you ask your tuner if they could send you a basemap to get you to their dyno?

Hi France,
At the moment it running super lean in closed loop operations.
Closed Loop operations: (low to mid throttle)
If you are using fuel tables, you must add fuel in all cells until the STRIM values are near to zero in all conditions.
Open Loop: (Full throttle)
I recommend to be on lambda 0.81 (AFR: 11.96/12) from cell 11 till 20

I forgot all about asking them for a basemap since I was getting help on here. I can ask them and see though. I am taking the car to them one day next week for the dyno.
here are a couple of short drives with your changes, I tried to get a good 3rd and 4th pull towards the end of datalog8 but the roads are too busy and 35mph speed limits don't help. It will be good to actually take it down the highway when i go to the tuner.

The fuel is getting better. Create a similar log.

Ed,
Here is the data from your last adjustment, the car is really waking up! Huge difference from where it started that's for sure.

I'm glad it running better. The fuel should be good to go. You should be able to make it to the dyno. Let us know how much power it makes. I also suggest you install an aftermarket wideband if you don't already have one. I always recommend a wideband to force inducted customers.

Re: 2011 CR-Z HKS GT2 + injectors basemap
Ed,
Thank you so much for all of your help! Here are the results of your 3rd adjustment. My 4bar MAP came in today and I'm scheduled for the dyno on Thursday. I will post the results as soon as I find out. They said they would send me a basemap between now and Thursday but do i really need one now? Maybe load it up, take a short drive and look at the results? As far as gages, I need to get a boost gage and I will get a wideband also. I see there are boost tables on the Hondata software but, I assume, they aren't viewable because this car doesn't have that option? Just curious. The supercharger kit from HKS includes an HKS Initialization tool to be used with Flash Editor. That is of no use unless you have the HKS Flash Editor correct?
Thanks again,
Johnny

You can load the base map if you want but if the car is driving fine you don't really need to. The only boost table available on your calibration is a boost cut. Its good to set one as a safety. Yes the HKS Initialization tool is useless since you are running hondata.
I cleaned up the fuel a bit more. No more logs are needed. Good luck on your dyno tune.

Re: 2011 CR-Z HKS GT2 + injectors basemap
Ed,
Went to the dyno today and I maybe wrong but I don't think everything is right. Just by the seat of my pants, the car felt like it had more power running your calibration on the way to the dyno rather than on the way home. The printout they gave me only shows 1 run, I'm guessing the final run because I heard 5 runs on the dyno, and shows Torque at 130 and Power at 141 at the wheels. I started a datalog a few minutes before I got home so it starts out while I am still on the interstate. Attached also is the calibration I downloaded from the car when I got home. They installed the 4 bar MAP that I ordered, I don't know if they ran it one time before changing to see where the car was at or not. According to HKS, the kit should achieve around 200HP out of the box with fuel upgrade kit. Their fuel up kit contains 330cc injectors and a 34mm restrictor, I have installed 440cc injectors with a 32mm restrictor so I would think that would at least be comparable. Maybe? Would 2mm on the restrictor make that much of a difference? I was expecting a little more output than what I have. It was the end of the day at the shop, I was the last person there so maybe they got in a hurry or something, I don't know. I think I will call tomorrow and talk to them to see. do you see anything that looks odd in this calibration or no?

Sorry to hear you didn't make the power you expected. I will look over and compare the calibrations and get back to you. Is this a reputable shop that works on Hondas? Did they hook up a wideband when they put it on the Dyno? How much boost is the setup suppose to make?

Yeah, I think my expectations were a little too high just going off what the HKS website predicted. I got in the car the day after it was tuned and it does feel pretty strong at higher rpms but there is a noticeable lag/jump combination if you are cruising at a certain speed then press the pedal down. Is this the switchover from low to high fuel? Or Vtech? Hard to explain the feeling but I have not felt that beforeCalibratEd wrote: Sat Jan 27, 2024 1:31 am Sorry to hear you didn't make the power you expected. I did ask the shop before bringing the car up there if they had experience with FlashPro and they said they use it often and pretty much the only one they use on Honda cars. They seemed to have some good reviews for dyno tuning also. I am not sure if they used a wideband, I will add that to the list of questions I want to ask them. I kinda got the feeling I wasn't allowed in the shop during the tuning as they showed me to the waiting room when I handed the key over. I would have liked to see it and ask the tuner questions during the process and like I said it was the end of the day and the tuner left as I was paying so I didn't have a chance to speak with him, only the shop manager who wasn't in there for the dyno either.
The setup is predicted to make 10-12psi boost, I regularly see around 5 to 6psi with moderate throttle, I haven't really done any WOT runs just yet as I like to test things out a while, check for leaks and loose connections before going full bore. I am going to upgrade my boost gauge also as I just picked up a cheap Bosch brand from the auto parts store to give me an idea. I would assume its accurate but would like to have a more reputable gauge set up.
I am still running the stock exhaust so I know I can improve some there by changing to a cat back system of some type, I will have to do some research on that. Also the shop did say the intake is necked down at the throttle body which is also restricting flow. Attached is a picture of the intake, it came with the HKS kit. The pipe is the same size from the intercooler until just before the throttle body where it opens up to match the throttle body size. I have noticed on occasions when taking off with some intention I hear a little squeal at higher rpms, sounds like the belt is slipping. So I will need to upgrade from the 4 rib to a 6 or 8 rib belt also.
I am open to any recommendations here. This is my first time boosting an otherwise N/A car so I'm learning as I go on this project.
Thanks again,
Johnny
