Hondata:Torque (Throttle) Table 480nm Limit (And Great MPG!)

Post by hifi »

Hondata folks.

Question:
So the dyno results for 91, 93, 100, E25 are all >480nm (~354ftlb) yet in all of those basemaps, you have the top torque limit at 480nm...that's a bit deceiving no? The sales pitch is the dyno charts...implying this is what you get with a basemap.

Why was the limit of 354ftlb chosen? Can we get your basemaps with the actual torque tables used in your dyno runs for said calibration? Please?

Of course we can adjust these, but I'm still confused as to the above rational to limit all of your basemaps to 480nm.

Now, a bit of praise. Has anyone noted that the basemap tunes give you at 2-3mpg boosts on top of more power? That is some pretty good ignition mapping Hondata! Optimizing the timing on the K20C1 for the fuel octane is key to MPG...and power. Who'd of thought the best of both worlds? I've verified consistent +2.5mpg on the stock Continental's and on Michelin PS4S's (The Michelins have lower rolling resistance, but the improvement is the same over the stock FK8 map ~+2.5mpg using the 93 octane basemap for comparison)

Thanks,
hifi

I measured on the dyno cars that exceeded the torque request values by more than 40Nm, so those limits can be easily exceeded in reality.

Yes, better MPG is one of the advantages of a quality reflash.
