Kpro v4 Flashing red, can't upload anything to it and shows ignition off.

Post by Crofty1994 »

Tried my Ecu on 3 others cars now and can't figure out why it won't work. It's going on my 2000 ek coupe kswap project but for the life of me I can't get it to work. Bought the unit second hand and watched it working but now it's decided not to.

Checked grounds and plugs several times to no avail. Any advice would be much welcomed as I don't know what else to do.

Ecu info attached, once plugged it the ecu flashes green then immediately red and won't allow any calibrations to be access and doesn't prime fuel pump or anything else.

Thank you very much for that I've just updated the software to the latest version and still the same outcome. The esu light starts green then immediately flashes red. The information like the serial and things is coming up but nothing can be uploaded or unloaded and the car can't be started.

Go to the online, Tools menu and erase the ECU, then when that finishes, open a calibration and try to upload it to the ECU.

If the ECU will not show inline in multiple vehicles, then it sounds like the ECU is most likely damaged. Do you have a spare ECU?

I don't have a spare ecu but potentially get hold of one do you think if I put this kpro in another ecu this may fix my issue?

I can't see any issue with the ecu I've visually inspected it and the fact It used to work before being removed is rather confusing. Could this not be a software bug where this read protect is causing this issue?

If it cannot clear security you need to try the K-Pro board form your ECU on a different ECU to see if it is the ECU or the K-pro.

Did you ever figure this issue out? I’m currently experiencing the same exact thing on my k20z1 swapped ek hatch with kpro v4. I was litterally driving normally and the car just shut off on me and I noticed the ECU wasn’t flashing when I turned ign on and then when I got it back to the house it’s doing the exact same thing when I plug it up to the software.
