Hondata S300 and AEM CD-7 troubleshoot
I’ve got everything connected correctly according to instructions but won’t transmit CAN data over to dash for some reason.
1. Hi/Lo CAN wires are connected via blue s300 LO/black-CD-7 plus white S300 Hi/clear-CD-7 wires.
2. 120k ohm resistor between Hi/Lo wires. Wires are twisted.
3. Dash is powered plus confirmed display setup configured correctly by AEM technical support.
4. Hondata parameter setting set correctly under Digital Input/Output CAN output MoTec SDL/ ADL (500 kbps)
Please help

Just noticed that accidentally ordered an 120k not 120 resistor which may be culprit but don’t know.

Relax, It’s the holidays. I’m waiting on some feedback but it won’t be until after new years.
Re: Hondata S300 and AEM CD-7 troubleshoot
CAN to dash is very difficult to remotely diagnose. Typical problems are CANH and CANL switched or the terminating resistors not present, or more than two terminating resistors.

Re: Hondata S300 and AEM CD-7 troubleshoot
so, 120 ohm resistor present at Hondata s300V3 harness connector prongs as AEM instructed me. However, There's resistance of 60 ohms between wires. Furthermore, I've come across a diagram photo which entails that resistor should be placed after harness connector. I doubt will make any positive difference. The fact that battery voltage and gear selector appear means it does transmit data. There's a firmware step in which somewhat confused of performing since not sure if doing it correctly. For instance when navigate to tools tab, update firmware and choose the latest date file present, my dash titles "Temp" read "Temps" and appear corrupt. As a result, don't want to retry update. Finally, agreed electronic troubleshooting is difficult over internet.
Thanks,
Alan

If the dash is receiving gear and voltage data then the CAN is working electrically. Any problem is likely to be a packet definition problem.

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

2.8.4.0 Build 3515, for some reason being 120 ohms instead of 60 ohms between Hi/Lo reading.

Please reply and voltage isn’t at 60 ohms between Hi/Lo CAN wires for some reason.

What is the serial number that is on the s300 board inside the ECU?
