Hello,
This is the current map I've made to run with my 2006 TSX with a G30-770
8.7 psi Tial spring on a jackspania sidewinder manifold, custom DP
1000c DW injectors with an aem340
The car runs pretty well, it still has some low load hesitation, but going WOT from 2k, it picks up great, full boost by 3800.
No signs or sounds of knock, and the spark plug bands have two timing marks on the bend of the strap and look great.
Current issue being the car over boosts to 15psi with only my 8.7psi spring...
The wastegate is plumbed to the Turbo housing, and the intake manifold seemed to make it worse.
The map is locked on 0 degrees Cam timing, and only runs in Open loop to make fuel map tuning easier.
I had a previous ignition table made up with more timing and I wasn't having over boosting issues, I'm assuming that is why, but looking for some opinions.
Cheers

Re: Turbo TSX basemap
If the timing is too low it will cause it to overboost. It has happened to me in the past. I would use the other timing values you had. Just make sure there is no knock present.

Thanks for the reply!
Do you think the values in my map look too low for this setup?
I was having a difficult time finding good comparison values for a turbo k24 to know if I’m even in the ball park. Wasn’t sure if the supercharger map in Flashpro would be an Ok comparison. They seem really high for timing
I will be adding a few degrees back and testing again to see what happens.
Thank you!

I would add timing back little by little.WallJohnson wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 8:37 am Thanks for the reply!

Re: Turbo TSX basemap
Hello,
Update; I have added some timing back in, in both low and high cam, and the over boosting is no where near as bad. Still creeps to 10 psi, but it does hold 8.7 psi longer when the gate opens.
I'm going to add some more higher in the rev range to see if it can hold the 9ish pressure.
Thanks!

Re: Turbo TSX basemap
Hello again,
I have made myself a set of Det Cans to aid in this tuning process.
Doing some pulls, I can hear some of the classic Pinging sounds of knock.
It is not consistent throughout the pull. There is a distinct ping at about 4500rpm and a few more around 5200rpm
Attached is the log with the pulls.
I seem to be between a rock and a hard place or I could just be shooting blanks in the dark cause I'm new.
If I reduce the timing, I get boost creep again but I seem to be knocking slightly at my current timing?
Anyone have some recommendations for this type of challenge? Should I just accept that my 44mm gate cant flow enough air to not over boost?
In my opinion:
IAT looks ok, intercooler is definitely mediocre..
AFRs are within a reasonable tolerance around 11.5 AFR
I'm running NGK BKR8EIX gapped to .024
Injectors are brand new from DW, although not personally tested myself.
