USB problem (even with ignition off)

Post by eTiLiKo »

I have a problem never seen before with a Kpro V4. It started after some months of not utilizing the car.
Long story short, when I connect the laptop to the ecu the connection goes on and off, and if I try to datalog the kmanager shuts off.
Sometimes It goes, and I can remain connected indefinitely, but the day after the problem occurr.
I have tried two laptops (win7 and win10), three cables, with ignition off, on, with the car running, I also tried on another car. When it does the defect there is no solution apparently.
Two short videos showing the problem with ignition off and ON.
When the problem occur with ignition ON the AIM dash (connected to the kpro CAN lines) reset all the values and return normal in half a second.
It doesn't seems to disconnect only with the ecu not connected to a car harness

Are you using resistor or non-resistor type spark plugs?

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

What is the serial number that is on the K-Pro board inside the ECU?

Resistor spark plugs. In any case the problem is present even with ignition off.
SW version 4.5.7.0 Build 3515
Board serial nr. 44621

Try your ECU in a different vehicle as it sounds like it could be something related to the vehicle if it is not doing it all the time.

If you disconnect the CAN connection from the K-Pro does it have the same issue?

Sorry, I have seen your reply only today.
I have a news, strange news. The problem goes away only if the notebook is connected to the internet!
It seems some sort of software problem to me.
Must I send an email as per instructions?

The software must have internet access from time to time. This is not a bug. There is no need to send this in.
