Tuning assistance
Hi all, Im looking for help. I was hoping for help with my tune. I have a 02 type s with AEM V2/ 4-1RH/Tanabe smr catback. Nothing too crazy I have a p2r intake plenum and throttle spacer on it with hondata gaskets and the intake is ported to match. other adds are act light fly and exedy clutch and short throw shifter and motor mounts. I am using the Toda k20A2 tune but my head is not modified at all. IACV deleted too idle set to 950 by throttle plate, secondary 02 delete. Im running rich I believe cause of fuel smell. If you could help or point me in the right direction that would be appreciated. I am gonna try and pull a log but Im not crazy sure on how to do it so if anybody want to throw tips my way thats appreciated.

Re: Tuning assistance
ok Ed, I can do a max speed of 35 mph on my way to work. I will record the stop and go but my question would be what else do you want to see? I need to know what kind of driving your looking for. Ill try and get you some logs but if you could tell me what your interested in seeing then I can get you a better log. Thank you

Re: Tuning assistance
A normal drive log for about 15 minutes is fine so stop and go should not be a problem.mikelowrie86 wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2023 9:52 pm ok Ed, I can do a max speed of 35 mph on my way to work. Re: Tuning assistance
The fuel in the lower rpm can use some fine adjustments but its not bad. The higher RPM in Vtec is running rich. There is also knock present in lower rpm when VTC is at 30 degrees.

Re: Tuning assistance
Wow. Thank you Ed. I dont know where to begin. Honestly I wasnt even sure if vtec kicked on. Should I turn on the "stock knock control logic" or do I do something more specific? As for the fuel tables I am way too new to try and interpolate any of that. Could you assist on that front or should I try a different tune. I found a few others roaming around the forums. Ill put them in the post.

Re: Tuning assistance
It is best to stick to the tune you initially posted. I made a few small fuel edits at part throttle only and reduced timing in the areas where knock was present. Create another normal drive log so I can make sure my changes took effect.

Re: Tuning assistance
Understood. I will go load the car up now and record a log tomorrow morning. Given the basic mods that I have do you think this tune will give me a decent increase vs some of the other tunes?

Re: Tuning assistance
The current calibration will have the car running safe as I am only adjusting part throttle. If you are looking to make power you would need a custom tune.mikelowrie86 wrote: Thu Nov 30, 2023 9:41 pm Understood. I will go load the car up now and record a log tomorrow morning. Re: Tuning assistance
Fueling looks good. There were a few more areas with knock. Like stated before you should not be wide open throttling the car. I made some adjustments to the timing. Create another normal drive log.
