I received the Hondata FlashPro Mini yesterday and have been loving it.
So diving deeper into the mods section I noticed that I hadn't touched the Traction Control settings. I'm using the Civic Turbo CVT 2017+, High Output (91 octane minimum) calibration profile on my 2017 Civic Hatch Sport CVT.
Looking up information on "Traction Control Hondata", I found the video stating I can get much more out of the car if I enabled it. But there are two mod options and both settings differ from the videos tune.
Should I go with Traction Control no wheel spin launch that states it can bog my engine down during hard launches. Or should I go with Traction control street launch, which has higher "Traction Control launch slip value" percentages. Which is also the opposite of the low values I saw on the YouTube video demonstrating the benefits of the Traction control. I live in a climate that sometimes has snow if that's a factor. And sorry this is already a long post but what is the "Traction Control launch slip value"?
Thanks to anyone who reads this. And my bad if it's an obvious choice, I'm very new to tuning. Or modifying my car in general.

You can try them both and see which one works best for you.

Re: Traction Control Mods
Thank you, it was good finding out I could try them both without any issues. After trying them both out I can't really feel the difference between them and will likely go with street since it doesn't say anything about slowing down the engine. From what I can tell the only difference is it raises the percentages of the "Traction Control launch slip value". Do you by chance know what that means and does?
Re: Traction Control Mods
It means it allows more slip of the drive wheels before pulling power.

Re: Traction Control Mods
Oh, so the higher the percentage, the more slip allowed before any power reduction. Thank you for the info I appreciate it a lot. Seems like I'll stick to street then as it has less power drawback. Do you think it should be safe for snow & rain? And seriously, thank you again for all the help!
Re: Traction Control Mods
It will probably be good in snow, but you can always make changes to the settings or disable it.

Re: Traction Control Mods
Awesome, thank you again for all the help these past couple of days! As I learn more about the software I'll likely start changing settings as you suggest. For now I still don't trust myself.
