Battery Light After Rebuilding Alternator

Post by Dc5.Fallout »

I just rebuilt my alternator, made my copper rings roughly to the same height. I used an Amazon "Alternator Rebuild Kit for 2002-2006 RSX Type S with Denso Unit (will not work for Mitsubishi Replacements) Regulator, Brushes, Bearing Kit" By HJCS.
I noticed that the voltage is good but the battery light is kicked on permanently, was wondering if KproV4 has a way to disable the Battery light?
I looked through Kpro menus and didn't find anything for the Battery light nor will it show in the DTC's for the battery light. I know that the voltage regulator for the rebuild kit isn't oem denso so it'll throw a battery light, I don't know why.

Pull the alternator and take it to a shop to have them test the diode. The charge light indicates there is something wrong with the charging system. If you take the Alternator to Autozone or someplace like that they can bench test it and tell you if it’s good or not. Other option I have used is see if there in an auto electric motor rebuilder near you to test it. Have the battery tested to or make sure it’s charged up properly, that could also trigger the light. Good luck.
