How to fix "dip idle, stalling" on FN2 K20Z4 engine

Post by typer86 »

Hi all,
the common annoying issue on modified K20Z4 after reflash is, dipping of the rev till engine stall.

> Big question how to fix this?
---------------
Step 1:
Apply air leak test to find all issues and solve it first.
----------------
Step 2:
> check sensors, connectors etc.

- Seals:
> throttle body seals
> intake manifold to block seals
> o-rings from MAP sensor
> o-rings from injectors
> some other connectors

- Sensors:
> primary O2 sensor (old sensors going bad)
> MAP sensor
----------------
What we can do with flashpro tuning:
----------------
> Disable second O2 sensor for deal in the fuel mixture
> monitor STRIM % value ... If the car going to rich (you see negative values), the ECU will trim back the fuel so the K20 engine does not get enough fuel and stall...
The best way to stabilize the fuel and the dips and avoid stalling: deal in the fuel tables or AFM values to STRIM "0% till +3%" so if the ECU see positive values they will add fuel so the K20 engine does not stall or dip down.

>> For beginners I recommend to use AFM based tuning its more easy to deal in faster to fix. In high load or boosting section you can use the MAP table tune. So you have both advantages.
----------------

Hope it helps to fix the most annoying issues on the FN2 K20 engine
