Pressure sensors for datalogging

Post by Lookout22 »

Are there any pressure sensors I can wire directly into s300? I want to monitor fuel pressure and exhaust back pressure. I currently use an aem pressure guage for oil pressure which uses a 0-5v I can connect to the analog inputs. My questions is, am I going to have to buy a new guage kit for every single pressure sensor I want to run? I don’t need to see display on the dash I just want to data log!

Yes, you can buy just sensors with no gauge and wire them to the analog inputs on the S300. I tried some cheap ones from Amazon (Autex brand) and they worked for a little bit, but ended up failing. I've since moved over to Lowdoller Motorsports sensors. They are affordable and seem well built and were recommended by a friend who races. I've only had them on for a few weeks so far, though, so no personal feedback on durability.

I try to use 0-150 psi sensors for as many as I can, so I've only got to carry one type of spare.

Thanks ! How do they wire up? Do I just run one wire to an analog positive pin I choose? They don’t need to be connected to a voltage source?

For the ones I'm using:

One pin goes to ground
One pin goes to a 5V source - you can tap into the 5V source for the TPS or any other 5V reference sensor
One pin goes back to the S300 Analog Input of your choice

Then all you have to do is set up the specific input on the Analog Inputs tab in SManager.
