Bluetooth datalogging, Kpro4, custom channels?

Post by Burnt_throwout »

Hi.
I have recently got my Kpro 4 running, and I have been able to data log basic OBD channels over the Bluetooth using an app like torque pro.

I want to log some of the Kpro 4s analogue channels as I have both oil and fuel pressure sensors setup on them and it would be useful to look for things like fuel and oil surge alongside gps and accelerometer data.

From the Kpro downloads section I have found the Bluetooth protocol overview PDF and I had some questions.

Firstly are the 2 modes it can run in mutually exclusive? for example pulling rpm and TPS data over the ELM327 mode prevent me from getting data in the TDLheader mode.

Secondly all of the example code in the document seems to be aimed at if you were communicating with the Kpro from a shell type interface instead of from inside an app.

Most apps just present you with a OBD header page like this.

According to the Bluetooth datasheet 0x0900 + 0x10 should be AN0 for example, but I am unsure how to use this information to get an app to read that channel.
Basically I know just enough to think it might be possible but not enough to figure it out how to do it.

Any insight would be greatly apricated.
Thanks
Tom.
