Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
Hi, sorry if this has been posted already. I'm new to the group but I was wondering if someone can help me with a calibration for a stock car other than hybrid racing intake. From what I remember. I didn't see any on the hondata flash pro. Just wondering if someone can help me with the basics of getting my car running. Thank you

Find a calibration with the mods closes to yours. Make sure it is running in speed density. Dial in the fuel and timing to make sure it’s running safe. And calibration you find will need adjustments.
Post the calibration file with a datalog and I can take a look at it.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
Hello Ed.
Thank you for the fast reply. I was hoping Hondata would have a tune for the HR CAI but it does not, so what I did was chose the "injen cai" map and ticked off the run on map sensor instead of the maf. it starts and idles fine but my car gone into limp mode and won't pass 3K rpm, its also throwing the p0101 code for maf I believe? so I disabled that engine code in Hondata but it keeps coming back. long story short the car is running very poorly and I'm scared I'm going to damage something. ESPECIALLY ON DECEL. my afr's where all over the place so if I was coming to a stop I would just coast in neutral. I was able to get a data log on my way home but it is mostly hwy driving. I'm assuming stop and go city traffic would be better for this? this is all new to me so I appreciate all the help I can get.. Thank you again.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
The car is running lean so the fuel maps need to be adjusted. The o2 sensor is compensating for that at the moment. When switching to speed density you need to uncheck the P0101 code in the MISC section. In the file you provided it is still checked. There are also high amounts of knock. You need to reduce the areas where knock is present.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
ok I disabled the p0101 code. (I think I hit download instead of upload last time I ticked it off). and as for the fuel map adjustments I'm not really sure what to do with that haven't messed around with it before. Do you think you would be able to send me something that I can put on just so I don't damage anything? or point me in the right direction(even more)? I'm not looking for perfectly tuned just something safe as its my daily, and I have more mods to put on hopefully before winter. and for the knocking what would be a good place to start looking? idk if its a possibility but the heatshield on my cat has rotted away and its causing rattling, maybe that would cause some phantom knock? I know that wouldn't be all of the reason but maybe a small percentage? TIA

I made some fuel and timing changes. Yes, it is possible that the heat-shield can cause false knock but timing has to first be reduced to conclude that its false knock.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
Thank you Ed. Im at work right now i will be home in about 2 hours i will load it then and get a datalog to post.
Since last time i made sure i disabled the p0101 engine code in hondata on the same calibrations and my limp mode went away just my afr's were still super high on decel.
Is there a perticular way i should drive during the datalog? Im thinking just run through the gears nothing to agressive?
Thanks again and ill post an update in roughly 2 hours.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
attached should be my recent datalog with the tune/calibrations you sent me. it isn't very long just went 5km to the gas station and back, hopefully this will be enough data for you if not just let me know what to do to make it easier for you.
My biggest concern is the AFR readings when I let off the gas it skyrockets to like 28 -29. which is why I have just been coasting to come to stops instead of downshifting/revmatching. I don't know if that is a byproduct of switching from maf to map or if that is even correlated with that issue.
Thank you

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
It is normal for it to lean when you let off. I made more broad changes. With the adjusted timing the knock went from 30 counts to 20 in the revision. I reduced the timing more.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
wow i feel like a dummy i guess if i let off the gas there will be no fuel to mix with the air haha. im also starting to learn/ play around with hondata now and just found the graphs and knock count etc. would there be a reason its mostly in #2?
this is the new datalog with the revisions

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
also let me know if you would like a datalog while in vtec. i figured it is better to stay out of vtec until everything is sorted out.
Thanks Ed, you are really helping me out! I should have done a lot more research before starting to put my mods on.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
No vtec logs are needed as this is only to get the car running safe. I made a few more adjustments to fuel. The knock count is lower so i reduced the timing as well. The knock being on cylinder 2 could be several reasons. Right now i am only reducing the timing until it does not have an effect. When we reach that state it could be the heat-shield.

Re: Hybrid racing cai tune.. help please
I've uploaded the 2nd revision and created a new datalog. I also took a datalog on the way home today while still on revision 1. I'm not sure if you care to see it, you didn't ask for it, but I figured more data wouldn't hurt and the log from last night might have been a little short.
Thanks.
Thanks.
