Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
1991 Civic hatchback, b18b1/b16a, gt40r turbo, S300 V3, Rywire engine harness, car has been running fine on the same tune for the past 6 years, one day minutes before I got home it started idling weird, had an alternator issue fixed that and the breaking up under load and rough idling persisted, all new grounds are good and have been Ohm tested. While I data log the car it has no error codes or check engine lights. I suspect it may be my Icm, the coil tested out good when the car was cold. Haven't had time to test it when it was up to temp. In the data logs the O2 sensor is reading a constant 3.85vs is that normal ? I can provide data log and calibration if that helps. Thanks for your time
Re: Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
Try testing it when it is having the issue.
Re: Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
Tested the coil today and it's within resistance specifications, even when the car gets warm and the problem persists. I also swapped out the Icm that was in the cars distributor with a spare one I had laying around in a good distributor, no change to the rough idle and stalling. Fuel pressure is still good at idle above 40psi. Checked over the grounds for the 5th time today and all check out good. It really seems as if the car is flooding itself out and loosing spark when you give it any throttle. Tps is working in the S300, no check engine lights, also the Ect sensor is working properly as well.
Re: Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
You may have an injector that is sticking open or that is leaking and causing this.
Re: Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
That is definitely a possibility, these injectors have to be from the early 2000s. The previous owner told me they are a old set of precision 1000cc low impedance injectors, they have been through the paces over the years, I'm still running a resistor box had Rywire add the green plug onto my engine harness when I ordered it 2 years ago. How about the O2 sensor reading 3.8vs? Not sure if that number is correct or not seems off to me, i'm new to understanding what proper readings are in the s300, so I could totally be wrong.
Re: Rough idle and stalling when car gets warm
What wideband are you using and how is it wired into the ECU?
