Will PRC kpro v1 ecu work in 02-04 type s?

A buddy of mine bought a PRC ecu with a kpro v1 in it.. I hooked it up and the lights on the board all light up corresponding to normal operations conditions according to the kpro help tab in the k manager program and the v1 also reads on the k manager.. go to upload a map and idk if it’s because it’s a V1 but I don’t hear any clicks coming from it while it uploads the map but the green bar goes all the way to the end and the little prompt screen goes away as if it’s downloaded.. I uploaded all of the basically stock k24 maps as my buddy is k24 swapped in his 02-04 type s and none of them would turn the car over.. I uploaded a map I got from my tuner in the past and it fired it up but then sputtered and died out then wouldn’t turn over at all after that.. he daily’s his rsx on his stock PRB ecu no problems other than it running rich and taking forever to start up on cold start.. only other thing that’s “wrong” with my buddies car is his battery SUUUUCKKSS.. so I’m wondering if it’s his battery that isn’t letting the ecu upload the tune, if PRC isn’t actually compatible with 02-04 type s or if it’s something else I’m just not thinking of.. any and all advice is appreciated thank you

There should be no clicking form the ECU as there are no moving parts inside the ECU.

Is it not cranking at all?

That’s weird because I personally have a V4 in a PRB ecu and it makes 3 clicking sounds when I go to upload a tune.. I was told and also read up on if the kpro board doesn’t make any clicks it’s not functioning properly and for it to click 3 times is normal.. I also have at least 5 friends with a kpro and their ecus make the same 3 clicks when uploading a map.. my homies car who just bought the PRC with v1.. yes his car cranks but doesn’t start.. he daily drives it on his stock PRB ecu.

There are relays under the dash that may click but the ECU itself has nothing int it that makes noise.
