Occasional AF not correct on WOT

Post by muffler »

Vehicle is FK7 MT from China(中文名:两厢思域手动挡 FK7)

Vehicle from Hondata:
Vehicle: Civic 1.5T (2016-2021)
VIN: LVHFK7xxxxxxx
Binary: Civic Turbo MT Canada 2020
Calibration: Civic Turbo MT 2018, +6 psi high octane with some tweaks on boost pressure

Occasionally, when pull WOT from gear 1 to 3, I feel there is little power when just shifted to gear 3, viewing logs I've found something but not sure if it's related to this:
From the screenshot above we can see at the cursor, the AF under WOT at gear 3 holds at 29.4 for about 2 seconds then drop to open loop's 11.4, while during that two seconds, fuel status on Hondata is still 4(open loop)
Full log screenshot as below.
While another pull in the same log file is completely normal, we can see AF drops quickly after TPlate runs to 101%
Since this happens occasionally I'm not sure how to reproduce it stably, is there any suggestions on how to dig in this more, or might this be some bug with ECU or Hondata?

Post the calibration as well as a datalog showing the issue.

Sure, I've sent an email with title "Calibration and Log regarding Occasional AF not correct on WOT" with calibration and datalog to support@hondata.com, as the fpdl file contains complete VIN number of my vehicle, posting it here I have some privacy concerns.

The issue described in thread can be seen at 0:18:53 of fpdl file.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Whenever you lift off the throttle (TPS=0) and under deceleration, the AF sensor is going to read a really high value (lean). This is due to the injectors not spraying/are closed, which is normal. Even during shifts, there is a short period of time that the injectors are turned off.

@PincheHenry Agree, but as you can see the 'normal' log screenshot, AF should be lean for only a short period during shifts, not 2 seconds?

I've added AFCMD to the graph, we can see the abnormal log part, AFCMD seems correct, which drops to around 11 shortly after gear change, while AF stays at 29.4 for 2 seconds.

Compare to normal one:

Hello? Haven't seen reply from you.
Have you received email at support@hondata.com or is there anything I can do to continue investigate on this?

if you want to dive into this further, your ecu is in fuel status 4 (open loop) it will use the AFM calibration to determine how much fuel to use during this operating condition. You may try and increase the AFM calibration in the specific range that its in. In your case its approximately between 70 to 125 g/s.

what modifications do you have on your vehicle?

I agree with this, but how is this related to AF stuck in 29.4 for nearly 2 seconds while AFM(g/s) rises the same way in normal situation?

My modifications on Car:
* Injen EVO 1500 Intake

I believe this is not related to AFM adjustment as this problem only occurs occasionally while most of the time it won't happen and S-Trim/L-Trim are normal(within -5%~0%).

Some people suggests that it might be related to the fuelling system while I have no idea if there is another clue that might support that thesis.

Also this is weird that I haven't heard from Hondata Team anymore, not this thread nor by email. Is this their attitude towards their users?

@Spunkster Thank you for clarifying!

@PincheHenry Do you have a way that I can privately share my datalog and calibration for you?(fpdl file contains complete VIN number of my vehicle, posting it here I have some privacy concerns.)
