RSX K24 P1362 code Cam Pos A (TDC No signal)

Good evening,

a year ago i swapped a k24a into my rsx and although it ran fine, ive always ran into an issue driving after about 40-60 mins and worse on hot days so ill explain what happens. After driving the car will toss a CEL and it will bog like its out of time or such, have no power at all and requires me to pull over. after doing so i get a P1362 - Cam Position sensor A (TDC No signal) code, after about 10 mins of sitting and clearing the code via hondata mobile app, the car starts back up and works again and i can drive again for abit before the issue repeats itself. I started by changing the cam and crank sensors, checking wires for breaks, which i found nicks in the wires so rewired the exhaust cam sensor wires and still found out i have the same issue.

Today i dug into it abit more by replacing the timing chain, guides and tensioner, lined the engine back up and installed it back into the car. While bleeding the coolant just as i was finishing up the issue came back with the same code as before. Im completely stumped on this issue and lost on where to look next, ProDemand has no info on that code nor any reported issues as that problem and theres not much on clubrsx forums/hondata/k20a forums.

has anyone ran into this issue? or know where to look? Im hoping someone has an idea of what could be going on as not being able to drive long distances or over 70 mins is quite annoying.

Have you tried your ECU in a known working vehicle to see if the issue follows the ECU?

ECU works fine in another vehicle, also before i swapped in the k24 i ran a k20 perfectly fine, this issue happened after installing the K24

If the ECU works on another vehicle and the problem does not follow the ECU, then there is either a mechanical or wiring related issue with your vehicle. You should follow the troubleshooting steps for that error in the RSX factory service manual.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue ? I’m having the same issue with my 06 Rsx k24. I checked timing and redid it (even though it was still on time). Changed cam sensors and crank sensor. Swapped harnesses. I’m starting to think it’s a k pro issue but I’m not sure how to check for sure because it only happens on those hot days like you said.
