Wideband not reading correctly

Post by JDM_Ego »

I recently got my build up and running for the most part but I noticed as it runs my AFR goes from about 14.7 slowly down to 10 and a steady pace no matter how much or how little throttle I give it. If I flip the plug (the plug can go in either way and if it’s upside down it’s been known to give me these issues in the past but only if it’s upside down. If it’s plugged In correctly it always read correctly) it does the same thing but goes all the way lean instead of rich but at the same pace no matter what I do. It’s a B20VTEC with an ITR base map, wideband is selected to read from E10 ELD, power is coming from switched power, my ground is grounded off a grounding point on the body and my white wire goes directly into the E10 ELD pin after I removed the original pin. I also cut the 2 resistors in the ECU

What sensor are you using? Never seen one where the plug is able to be plugged in wrong. Have you tried a new sensor?

Are you connected to E10 or D10?

I’m connected to D10 my bad. E10 was a typo. I Depinned D10 and then ran my wideband into D10 and on the data logging window I think it was I selected I was running a wideband instead of a narrowband and that my wideband was in D10

I wanna say it’s a Bosch? It’s an AEM wideband kit but the sensor went bad and I matched it up at autozone I think. It was a while back but it worked as long as it was plugged I. The right way lol. The first time I plugged it in backwards I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why my sensor was acting up and not reading right at all and I finally thought about flipping it and it worked like a charm. I do wanna get an aem replacement sensor though just to be safe

If you plugged it in backwards, you may have damaged the wideband controller, the sensor or both.

Yep, that's what I was thinking.
