p1166 2002 crv MT rbb3 kpro v3 aem 300

Post by notsonerdy »

car setup:

2002 crv MT, rbb3, kpro v3, aem 300

after I swapped in the rbb3 / kpro v3 it threw me p1166, so it was suggested to get an aem 300 AF gauge

I wired the signal to analog 0 and changed the "conversion" in the analog tab to AEM -0300, in the wide band tab in the settings ( use analog 0), and disabled secondary on the closed loop tab as well as unchecking the immobilizer and secondary 02 in the 'misc' tab

I am still getting code p1166 and the dashboard on the laptop isn't reading any numbers while the gauge itself is reading a steady 14.7 at idle ( fluctuates when throttle is engaged)

ive read on here that a p1166 code means the ecu is bad, is this true

Are you trying to run closed loop from an aftermarket wideband?

You have a V3 K-Pro and it cannot use an external wideband for closed loop. That can only be done with the v4 K-Pro.

I dont have that function requested - under that tab I have disabled ( open loop)

my issue is with the code... id happily take out the AEM o2 sensor and go back to stock if the p1166 would go away

this is my issue, any advice on how to remedy it would be appreciated

It sounds like either the factory wideband or the wiring for it has been damaged when installing other parts. I would follow the factory service manual for troubleshooting that error code.
