02 Base W/ K24

Post by shawnjawn17 »

Hello guys and thank you in advance for your help.

I got this Rsx from a buddy some time ago and i decided to start trying to get it running and road-worthy.
The full list of what is done to the car:

JDM K24 Longblock
02-04 Type S LSD Transmission
Competition Stage 2 Clutch Kit
RBC Manifold with Ktuned Throttle Body (No IACV)
Stock 24 Injectors
All K20a2 Sensors (Cam, TDC & CPS)
New Fuel Pump
Jackspania Engine Harness
KproV4
Skunk2 Header (No Exhaust, No O2 Sensors)

For some reason any basic basemap i put on the car ends up throwing the P1361 code and timing components are all brand new and refreshed from Honda. If i am able to get the car started, its for about 30/40 seconds before shutting off itself and i CANT give any gas otherwise it shuts off also. Harness is pretty self-explanitory being labeled but i tried everything before coming on here and i cant seem to get it going. I even tried a buddies computer and same results.

(Car doesnt have knock, 02's, IAC or serpentine belt connected but i didnt think that would be an issue on a fully charged, brand new battery with cables hooked up. Any help is appreciated !

By serpentine not connected you mean that the alternator is not being used?

Yes, alternator is not in use at the moment. Just brand new battery with jumpers connected to a running car I have here. The only reason I haven’t hooked up the belt is because im sourcing AC Compressor bolts that weren’t given to me to run my belt w/ all accessories. Once I can locate the bolts today I was going to give it another go

Sounds good. Once you have the alternator working report back. Try to fix all hardware issues before to move to troubleshoot the software side.

Update:

I installed serpentine belt and got power message gone on the Kpro. But I still can’t rev or give any gas other then what the car is idling at. Also idle went down to about 2/400rpms from Kmanager.

Post a datalog and calibration file you are running.

I am using the map that came with this setup, but the datalogs are not showing in order for some reason. First is the "BeforeBatteryDied" and then after is Running After Priming Key Few Times. Makes me start to think of fueling issues

The best approach would be to first get a primary o2 so you can log the AFR. Second would be to use a hondata base map that has not been modified. The current calibration is set to run 410 injectors and the overall fuel trim is set to +35%. I would assume its running very rich.

Okay I have just set up my wideband but i am currently hooking it up to Hondata so that way everything can be seen through Datalogging. I also put a stock calibration onto my computer instead of the map i provided and i am getting the same results but maybe i can try to pull/put fuel to get the car to idle.

Thank you so much in advance!!!

It will need some adjusting but you are headed on the right track. It should now be easier to help you as you can provide datalogs with wideband data.

Thank you for all of your help so far and for future business as well !!

Now I have gotten the Gauge working, opened back up the fuel pump to check the o-ring (I had issues here before which was lacking fuel to front when I first got the car) and the o-ring was unseated ! Fixed it, sealed it and she can let me rev to hold an idle but a very low one (about 3/400rpms after 3 minutes holding throttle at 1000rpm). I did record this for you to check along with the new stock map I put on, just have to get back home to send via laptop

Not a problem. I’m glad I can help.

Truly God Sent !

Here are the 2 datalogs while holding throttle to get an idle and the calibration used

Latest log with a decent amount of idle time but held throttle to get to steady idle.

You need to setup the wideband in the hondata calibration. There is no wideband data in the datalog.

Also, make sure your cam angle sensor is connected. It is not reading propely in the datalog. This could be why its running so rough.

The car is throwing codes:

P1361
P0344

A common issue when these codes arise is when the connectors to these sensor were swapped.
