Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Hello how are you?
I ran out of ideas so I come to your knowledge.
The problem I'm having is that, when making a shift, it seems that the injectors cut off, for a brief moment. I'm not sure how the tables inside "Throttle Parameters" work so I didn't touch much.
Another question, should I modify something in the "Throttle flow vs opening" table?
Thanks in advance!
The car is a forged K24/K20
cai sk2 + 72mm k-tuned
Injectors cut 520cc

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
As the throttle plate is closing this looks normal.
Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Thanks for the answer, it's strange.
I don't remember that it happened to me before, it slows down for a moment and then it accelerates again. It happens only when I make the change near the limit.
In the image you can see that the plate is at 100% however inj at 0.0

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Since the problem started (I think) when I installed tb k-tune and also moved the rev limit a bit.
Could it be that changing to a throttle with more flow is affecting some of these parameters?

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Try going back to a previous calibration you were using. Then you can compare settings and make gradual changes to see what causes it.
Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
The only change from the previous calibration was the rev limit, from 7900 to 8300.Spunkster wrote: Tue May 09, 2023 1:27 pm Try going back to a previous calibration you were using. Then you can compare settings and make gradual changes to see what causes it.
Since the previous throttle failed (P2101). Now that doesn't happen anymore, but I do have that injection cutoff, shifting at 8000 rpm or more.
In addition to correcting AFR. Is it necessary to modify something else with the new 72mm throttle?
Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
It may be that you aren't not using an OEM throttle body for this engine. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=18527

Does anyone read what I write, my English is so bad?
Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
You just indicated that you are using a new throttle body...is that correct?
Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
That's right, I currently installed a new k-tuned 72mm dbw throttle body, with match porting on the manifold.Spunkster wrote: Tue May 09, 2023 4:58 pm You just indicated that you are using a new throttle body...is that correct?
Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Did you read the post on replacement throttle bodies?

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
Yes, I already read that thread thoroughly, and it refers mainly to the P2101 error, related to the throttle body malfunctioning.
I used to have that error with my previous stock throttle body; that's why I changed it and installed a brand new k-tuned 72mm dbw. Now with this new one, I'm not having that error anymore.
That said, my current issue is that, when shifting, the injectors cut off (0.0ms - you can check that in the log). I don't know if this is something that used to happen before with the stock throttle body since I couldn't rev enough because of the P2101 error.
The only change I've done (at a map level) is moving the rev limit from 7900 to 8300.
- I'm clueless on how to follow here.
- Is there any parameter in "Throttle Parameters" or "Throttle flow vs opening" table I should modify because of the throttle body upgrade?

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
The injectors should cut off during overrun.
With the throttle body the post explains why throttle bodies which are different from stock use more current than the ECU can provide. You don't get an error; the throttle plate just does not follow the command very well. I'm not sure what motor the k-tuned throttle body uses and what current it consumes, so can't say if this is a problem for you or not.

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
I understand what you're saying, but I had that problem before, with the oem throttle body.
Now the plate behaves according to the pedal request.
The "problem" now is that it seems that once it accelerates again, after shifting it cuts off for a brief moment.
What I can see in the log is that the injector turns off.
My main question is... Do you recommend setting any other value using this new larger TB?

Re: Injectors cut on shift - High revs
This is the sudden jerk, which I am telling you about. He does it too if I shift, without releasing the pedal.
