Red blinking light and drivers update issue

Updated my s300 v3 to newest firmware. Now I can only connect and upload to the ecu if connected to car and with key turned ON.
If ecu is out of the car and plugged into my laptop. I'm only able to see my registration info but not upload any calibrations. Ecu also has blinking red light when connected outside of the car. When connected to the car with key on, the red light doesn't blink and I get the solid green light.
I tried to update the driver with connected and car key on position as instructed but it keeps telling me driver update failed. I tried to update using device manager but it tells me i'm using the best driver at the moment.

Yes i'm using a mac.
I never had this issue before until after the update.
