Ethanol Sensor Help

Post by double_ortiz »

Hello,

I am trying to get an ethanol sensor working with my 2015 Civic Si and Flashpro. The sensor I'm using is a Continental flex-fuel sensor (P/N 13577429). After wiring and installation I’m running into an issue where the FlashPro Manager is reading crazy values from my sensor. (98-54-47-82-100-73 percent, etc etc). this is how it is wired:
12V coming from fusebox below steering wheel (tried a wire straight from battery just for testing with same results)
Ground from bolt on same fusebox (tried 2 different locations and straight from battery negative with same results)
Signal wire going to ECT2 plug (green wire side)
I've tried to modify the wiring with no luck of fixing the issue. I have also obtained a new sensor, with the same results. Is there something that I may be missing? something in the wiring? Something in the settings withing the flashpro manager? Any help will definitely be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What controller are you using with the Flex Fuel sensor?

That was one of my questions. I saw a Ktuner FlexFuel converter but was unsure on whether that was applicable in my situation. What does a typical setup looks like in terms of wiring. Other that the 3 wires described above I don't have anything else. Thanks in advance.

You cannot use just a sensor without a controller to operate it and send the signal to the ECU. We recommend the Zeitronix and Innovative kits.
