TPS not calibrating

Post by Lookout22 »

I have a strange issue my tps won’t calibrate it only reads between -5min and 60 max when I calibrate it. weirdly when the key is on and car off the tps will read properly, but when trying to tune im at a quarter throttle before it will even register 1% in a data log. I’ve tried moving the sensor and get no different results. Please hellllllp! Trying to dyno tune tomorrow. I have used this sensor before and it was working fine. I put it on a skunk 2 throttle body and now it’s acting up. What do I do?

If you use a different throttle body, does it read correctly?

Then it sounds like a problem with the throttle body you are using.

How do I check voltage at the ecu?

What voltage are you referring to?

I also got a rywire engine harness. Where do I check the tps voltage to make sure it’s getting the right voltage

You should check at the TPS sensor, but since it works with a different throttle body the issue is not with the sensor or the wiring or the ECU. The problem appears to be with the throttle body itself.

Make sure the part of the throttle body that grabs the "ears" on the TPS are not bent. It sounds like the throttle body is not engaging with the TPS properly. Also, make sure there is no old gasket left behind. This would space the TPS out too far away from the part it engages with.

Can I check the TPS sensor myself? How do I know exactly what the problem is with the throttle body?
