Injectors too big?

Post by JoeM »

Trying to get a b16 to idle with 1000cc injectors. It idles at operation temp 12.5-13.0 afr. Columns 2-3 is where it idles @ 1000rpm. I think it has around 40 units of fuel in column 2 and 90 units in column 3. No matter how much fuel I take away from from the map in columns 2, 3 it doesn’t lean it out. I literally put 1 unit of fuel in each of the idle cells and it won’t budge the afr. Any help is appreciated.

without seeing the calibration and a datalog showing the issue it's hard to say what might be happening

Which 1000cc injectors are you using? If they are Lucas/Rochester style, I highly recommend upgrading to a name brand EV14/Bosch style injector. They behave MUCH better at idle.
