Kpro Tuning

Post by turbodave »

Hey all,

I am a newbie to Hondata, but very well versed in tuning cars on the street and dyno. I'd like to ask some newbie question if you don't mind?

I am going to tune a K20a motor Ivtec NA with a Kpro on it. I am also going to tune a supercharged civic and need some help. I looked at the software and the thing I don't understand is, there is a box there that lets you set 6 cam points, 0degree, 10 degree, 20degree, 30 degree, 40degree & 50degree. Can some one explain that to me? I think it is called cam angle. Why would there be 6 different cam angles? How would I tune for those cam angles? Also would that mean, there are high/low cam fuel and timing tables that I have to tune? That would be 24 additional table to tune. Am I correct about th e 24 for extra fuel/timing tables to tune?

Also how would I know or get to the propper cam angle (ie 20 degree, 6000 rpm and light load) I guess if I knew what the cam angle was I would be able to tune for it?

Thanks for the help.
