Car bogs when starting from a stop

Post by Roedkill »

When starting from a stop aggressivley, the car bogs down for about half a second, then returns back to normal. I have launch control and traction control enabled, and have verified they are not causing the problem (clutch switch wired to VTP and is correct in log and vehicle is above the max speed for launch control, and Hondata traction control input is ELD, which is always below ~.4v). I noticed the injector duty cycle spikes to 100% for seemingly no reason, dips down to 2%, then jumps back up to 75%, and then returnes to normal. The car normally only gets to about 46% duty cycle max.

What would cause the injector duty cycle to do this?

Car is a K24 swapped miata, and I have had it running for 2 years. This issue started today towards the end of a 3 hour drive, and happened multiple times towards the end of this trip. After I got home I shut the car off and grabbed my laptop to look at the logs and couldn't figure out what was going on, so I went back out and couldn't recreate the issue.

Kpro V4 Serial Number: 52313
software version 4.5.1.0
ECU part number: 37820-PND-A56
Injectors: Fuel Injector Clinic 1000cc, been running them for a few months without issue

Have you actually purchased and installed a Traction control system in this vehicle?

Yes, I have that module. I have done a bunch of street and track testing with it and so far it has behaved as expected.

There are no individual wheel speed readings in the datalog you have provided.

I don't think it's possible to record individual wheel speeds when doing an on-board datalog. I attached another log with my laptop plugged in to both the kpro and traction control module from after I key cycled the car (and couldn't replicate the issue) to show that the wheel speeds are working. There is some noise in the wheel speeds while idling, but that goes away after the vehicle starts moving.

And again, I don't think it's traction control causing the issue because ELD.V is always less than 1V, and there's no reason traction control would cause the injectors to spike to 100% duty cycle.

The duty in this datalog is only going ingot the 20's, and is nowhere near 100% as you describe.

Right. As I said, I couldn't recreate the issue with the laptop plugged in and recording all channels. Duty cycle in the original data log does spike to 100%.

I have more logs where I know for sure that traction control is intervening, and the injector duty cycle never spikes like that.

Try creating a new alibration and see if it does the same thing. NO one else has had any issues. Maybe your calibration is just corrupt.
