Cam angle issue

Post by tbc »

Hi All,

Need help with a strange issue. Searched through the web and other forums with no such issues. Gone through 2 different tuners without solutions.

Running KPro V4 on DC5 ECU with jumper to my CL7 Euro R ECU. Running Frank engine with RR4 cams from 4Piston with RBB VTC actuator (25°) for P2V clearance.
Tuner tried to command various angles from 20°, 30°, 40°, etc, the cam only advance max of 17-18°.
Oil pressure is good, VTC actuator, VTC solenoid, VTEC solenoid are all new, replaced during troubleshooting. VTC screen and solenoid screen are found to be clean.

Greatly appreciate experts to chime in where else to look.

If you have a limited movement VTC gear, then it is more than likely at the limit of its movement.

Thanks for the reply,

The RBB VTC actuator is actually Honda original parts and not pinned internally so it should have 25 degree. Am i missing something?

It may also be the combination of parts and that is the most cam advance it can do due to how the cam has been degreed. You should talk to the cam manufacturer. I

The CAM gear you have will not go past 25 no matter what so trying anything above 25 will not give the desired result.
